Role of interactions between ants and birds in shaping elevational patterns of diversityBirds and ants show a complimentary pattern of diversity in the eastern Himalaya, bird diversity peaks at about 2000m elevation where ants are essentially absent. I studied if competition for arthropod prey and nesting space between ants and birds is responsible for this complimentary diversity pattern.
